B-SIDES RESIDENCY
Like hanging out with your friend with the good good vinyl, but without the basement weed.
B-Sides Arbitrary Residency returns to Barely Bros! This is a 90 minute event of highly-curated obscure songs from across ridiculously diverse genres. It shouldn’t work, except it does. Like, really well. Curated by yours truly, and hosted by yours truly, B-Sides Arbitrary Residency is perfect for a hang, an intellectual bonding, and for spending money on live music and good records.
3 sets. 3 worlds. 60 minutes of song. 30 minutes of hang.
Featuring
poem|music: Baritone Justin Spenner (me) and Pianist Carson Rose Schneider perform sappy yet classy French songs by Faure, Chaminade, and Satie.
Julia Isabel Diaz: She tears up the stage in plays and musicals all over. I met her at the Nautilus Music-Theater Composer/Librettist institute, where she said flippantly “I like to sing mariachi.” So, we’re paying her to do just that, people. Incredible, brassy and sensitive voice.
Daniel Johannes: soulful, folky, indie music that will remind you of every missed connection you’ve ever had. Need to sort out your past? Daniel has a song for that. Expect twists, turns, and gut wrenching melody.
